About
The NEXT Foundation invests in bold transformational environmental projects that help restore Aotearoa New Zealand’s iconic species and spaces – so they can thrive once again.
Our strategy is to back exceptional environmental projects and extraordinary people to lead them; provide a cash injection to catalyse those projects; and collaborate with iwi, government, business, communities and other philanthropists to deliver the biodiversity gains.
The new NEXT fund also expands its investment focus to include restoring our oceans. NEXT committed to its first investment in oceans late in 2025, becoming a seed investor in a collaborative project with iwi and the government to restore marine life in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.
